The Optical and Plasma Physics group is interdisciplinary with focus on laser spectroscopy and material characterization through the development of optical imaging, laser-based techniques and instrumentation systems.
Our research interest is geared toward the applications of spectroscopy to the real-time quantitative and qualitative measurements of species concentration. State-of-the-art techniques, such as Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy, Laser-Induced Fluorescence Spectroscopy and nanoparticles are use to address pressing environmental and biomedical issues.
